miss home
i miss my family and friends so much. its been 8 months but it seems like forever. i havent never been away from home this long.with my familyin Nigeria, i could only communicate with them every so often due to the time zone. So sometimes, i would talk to them as early as 4.00am our time. it didn't matter because i was eager to hear form my loved ones back home. Even though i miss my family dearly, i've come to copes with the United states and most of customs and traditions. At first it was hard trying to understand, but as time went by, it became easier. Although i miss home, i came here for a purpose to gain an educaton. And i would work hard to accomplish it.
college for me
college has always been a goal for me growing up. i finally got an opportunity at SPSU, marietta Ga. i was excited and nervous about leaving home and my country in africa. i had to go through several steps to get here. for example, i had to take the SAT , send my high school transcript to josef silny and associate. i had to also go through the rigorous process of getting a US student visa putting togethere required documents from my high school and family to meet up with the embassy's requirements. its was really a lot of work and time but it paid off at the end. i am very grateful to God and Coach kom the head coach of the men'c soccer, for giving this opportunity to pursue my education and do what i love playing soccer.

Avatar
I have heard so much about this movie"Avatar" that i decided to go see it for myself. I must confess it was worth my time and money. This is a must see movie, innovation, creative, awesome and beautiful. This is a very good movie but a very long movie 3 hours, but it is a very well thought through and its amazing 3d. For the first time in a long run, i am truly fulfilled, one of the best movie i have ever seen. The most amazing thing about this movie, is the planet pandora itself, its beauty is literally out of this world, the plants, the floating mountains, the forest creature, the flying creatures , everything. Mind -blowing graphic, the color effect, the CGI, 3d. I don't know how particular to explain the creativity in this movie, but i was truly amazed. The best movie of the year .

Spring break...
As a new comer to the United states, this is my first ever spring break. It was a nice one because i had enough rest to re-ignite myself for the last part of the semester. I was told that by this time of the year, its suppose to be warm but the weather in Georgia and all over the world recently has been crazy. Apart from that, i had fun and partied almost everyday of the spring break. I also had the time to travel out of Georgia to Florida. I travelled by road, so i had to chance to have a glance of some other cities like Clayton,Tifton, e.t.c in Georgia.
The weather in Florida was wonderful, the sun was up so early and i was able to quench my thirst for sunlight. I felt like i was at home because it was as hot as it use to be back home in Nigeria. After my experiences in Florida, i think i may have to re-locate and start a life there.

Nigeria in focus.....
There is a serious political breech going on in Nigeria. The president of Nigeria, Musa Yar'Adua left the country about 80 days ago for a medical check-up in Saudi Arabia and since then has not returned. He was elected as the president in 2007 but just shortly after he resume office, you can tell by his looks that he's not healthy. The President long absence has been attributable to the nature of his ill-health. In his physician’s statement, President Yar’Adua suffered from acute pericarditis, an inflammation of the linning surrounding the heart.
According to the 1999 constitution, the President has the obligation to write to the National Assembly for official leave, thus empowering the vice President to act pending full recuperation. But Up till date, the president has refuse to so, leaving the country in a difficult situation. Now, Nigerians are in a state of confusion over the nation's political direction and foreign policy especially in the case of united States listing Nigeria on a terriorist watch.

christmas break
Christmas break for me, i would say was lonely but exciting as well. it was the first christmas i have ever spent without my family. i missed home and all my friends. i didnt travel back home because it was a short break and considering the fact that home is thousands of miles away. All my teammates and friends went back homes to spend the christmas break with their families, leaving me at the apartment alone. I didnt have to sit upon my boringness, so i get into so many activities like visiting the mall, meeting new friends and getting them come over to the apartment. i didnt have to worry about the apartment being clean or if my roommates have messed the kitchen, because i made sure everything was clean before i left.
I also used the transit buses for the first time here in the U.S to Atlanta to go visit my aunt. i also used the Metro-Train while in Atlanta to go visit some tourist center which was so exciting. The Metro transportation system makes movement so easy. I could go any place i want without having to ask anybody for a ride. I also used the christmas to experience what night life in Atlanta was like. I discovered that Atlanta was so much fun at night, so many spots, clubs , lounges, bars where so busy. i visited some clubs and had a nice time. I could say going to the clubs was the most exciting thing i did through the christmas break. It was so much fun, i made a habit. i clubbed every day of the remaining christmas break period, that i wasnt even keeping track of time.
