BACKGROUND AND HISTORY


Born on June 28th 1963 at the island maternity hospital, Lagos to the
fashola family of Isale-gangan, Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola, also a
direct descendant of the Shomade Family of Isale-Eko through his
paternal grandmother, as well as a descendant of the Bashua and Suenu
Families of Lagos a very important and influential family in the history of
Isele eko in Lagos state. So as a truly lagosian, he know the problem and
difficulties of the people of lagos.
He is very intelligent, focused , ambitious and determined person even right
from his youthful days he has strife so hard to make it in life and contribute to
the well being of the people and especially to the life of the people of lagos
state, whom he loves so dearly from his heart because it’s the land was fed
and raised to make a better place. So when he began the governor he has
nothing else in his mind than to do what he has wanted to do his entire life,
serve the people and make life worth living and also change the face of politic
in Nigeria. He is married to Mrs. Abimbola Emmanuella Fashola and they are blessed with children


EDUCATION

He began his educational career in Sunny-Field primary school, adelabu
surulere in lagos. He then proceeded to Eko Boys high school, Mushin and
Igbogi College, yaba, all in Lagos for his secondary and post secondary school
Education. He then moved on to further his education by getting admitted in
the University of Benin, an institution that has set itself the most rigorous
standards for academic excellence, to study law and graduated with laurels
earning the bachelor of laws L.L.B (Hon) degree.


POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

He has served in some political post such as;
Secretary of the Lands Committee of the Transitional Work Groups; 1999
Member of the Panel of Enquiries into Allocation of Houses on the Mobolaji
Johnson Scheme at Lekki, 2000
Member of the State Tenders Board; 2002 – 2006
Member of the State Executive Council; 2002 – 2006
Member of the State Security Council; 2002 – 2006
Member of the State Treasury Board; 2002 – 2006
Chairman, Ad-Hoc Committee on the Review of Asset Distribution among Local
Government.
The Chief of Staff to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
(Ex Governor of Lagos State)

ABILITIES AND HOBBIES

He has unique abilities of influencing, changing anything around him to being
better and in everything he does, he works so hard to leave an impact.
He is also a kind, interesting, humble, straightforward, honesty, caring and
loving person. Apart from work and dedication to helping mankind, he also enjoys
his personal life by doing some sports and exercise to keep fit. Swimming and
fishing has does occupationally but playing soccer is another thing he loves with
his heart and does this more often. If his not working to make life better, he is
talking or doing things about soccer, that’s how passionate he is for this game.


CONCLUSION

Babatunde Raji fashola is a dedicate passionate intelligent and deligent
person, a man with a vision and compassion for Nigeria and the people, which
he has proven with the unanimous projects and accomplishments he has
achieved in just six months in office in lagos state. Surely, a Brighter and
Rewarding Future beckons to Lagosians through the tireless efforts of this man
of destiny.
